Quatuor Elmire brings the archives of Palazzo Vendramin Grimani to life
On 24 and 25 October, Palazzo Vendramin Grimani will host a musical diptych inspired by the rediscovery of its historical archives and the chamber music tradition.
Organised at the initiative of the Amici d’Or, these two evenings will offer the public the opportunity to discover, for the first time, a selection of scores found in the Palazzo’s archives, including works connected to the Grimani and Marcello families.
For the occasion, Quatuor Elmire, winner of the 2023 Fondation Etrillard Special Prize, will bring rare and previously unheard works to life, creating a dialogue between Venice’s musical heritage and the great tradition of chamber music.
These two events offer a new way of discovering the musical and cultural history of Palazzo Vendramin Grimani, through a programme centred on transmission and rediscovery.
