The Fondation Etrillard will be supporting Lucerne’s new piano festival “Le Piano Symphonique”, which will explore the links between the piano and a symphony orchestra. The festival’s philosophy chimes with the Fondation Etrillard’s mission to showcase traditional piano music, while shining the spotlight on young talents and setting special store by the rediscovery of forgotten pieces.
For its second edition, due to take place from 7th to 11th February 2023 in the lakeside city of Lucerne, “Le Piano Symphonique” will be paying tribute to Robert Schumann, whose music will be performed by such globally acclaimed stars as Martha Argerich, Rudolf Buchbinder or Khatia Buniatishvili. Thanks to this support, the Fondation Etrillard is developing its outreach across Switzerland in Lucerne, a city steeped in musical history where musicians the likes of Wagner, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Schumann and Scriabin lived or worked on their compositions.
