Founded in 1918 by Ernest Ansermet, the reputation of Orchestre de la Suisse Romande has travelled way beyond the Swiss borders, particularly due to interpretations of 20th century French and Russian repertoires.
The Fondation Etrillard is delighted to be associated with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande during the 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. The Foundation will support the programme of six concerts showcasing the orchestra's chamber music, to be held in the Franz Liszt hall of the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève (Geneva Conservatory of Music), on Sunday mornings. The musicians will explore works from Bach to Steve Reich, including Mahler, Webern and - more unexpectedly - jazz.
The Fondation Etrillard is aware of the importance of chamber music as a genre, both for the listening skills it develops in musicians and its fundamental contribution to the history of music. The Fondation strives to make this music available to contemporary audiences.
