The Etrillard Foundation decided to support the Ensemble Correspondances, under the direction of its conductor Sébastien Daucé, in recording masterpieces unknown to the general public, including Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Histoires sacrées. These Histoires sacrées achieve a synthesis between the Italian and French styles, an approach characteristic of the composer that accounts for his unique originality in the 17th-century Baroque landscape.
