Through its patronage of the catalog for the exhibition Things – A History of Still Life, the Etrillard Foundation wishes to participate in the rediscovery of still life, an artistic genre long considered minor and whose last major exhibition dates back to 1952.

Conceived by Laurence Bertrand Dorléac, Art Historian and President of the National Foundation of Political Science, the exhibition revisits the still life genre through the perspective of a dialogue between artists of the past and those of the present: from prehistoric axes to Duchamp’s readymade, via Chardin and Manet, the entire history of art is revisited.
