The Etrillard Foundation wished to support cellist Hermine Horiot in order to shed additional and unprecedented light on the work of the largely unrecognized composer Rita Strohl. Following her meeting with pianist Hélène Fouquart, Hermine Horiot immersed herself in the Grande Sonate dramatique ‘Titus et Bérénice’, a monumental work by the Breton composer. A video recording was born from this artistic and friendly encounter: the two musicians explore the four movements of this Sonata and pair it with Solitude by the same Rita Strohl, a brief melody for cello and piano and a true undiscovered gem. By supporting this recording, the Etrillard Foundation continues its commitment to a modern dissemination of music through video, where the relationship between music and image is central.
