The Fondation Etrillard funded the renovation of the Aurora Salon at the Royal Palace of Venice. It thus contributes to safeguarding this treasure of our heritage and allows the public to rediscover its rich original decoration, the work of Giovanni Rossi.
Numerous interventions have succeeded one another over time in the Aurora Salon of the Royal Palace of Venice, designed in the years 1853-57 for the apartment of Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Habsburg. These interventions altered the original chromatic nuances of the Salon as well as certain decorated parts, the surfaces of which generally appeared very darkened by the presence of dust and overpainting. The various operations supported by the Fondation Etrillard (renovation of the gilding and paintings, restoration of the doors and windows…) have made it possible to restore the original decoration of the Salon to all its splendor, and it is today once again open to the public.
