Support for the “Ovid in the Jura” exhibition organized by the Swiss National Museum 2022

The Etrillard Foundation is supporting the exhibition “Ovid in the Jura, the astonishing story of a wallpaper,” organized by the Swiss National Museum. This temporary exhibition focuses on a masterpiece from the Swiss National Museum’s collections: a very rare wallpaper salon from the 1790s produced by a famous Parisian manufactory. This set was found by chance in the 1950s in a Jura farmhouse. To tell the amazing story of this object, the museum called upon a comic book illustrator.

The subject of this wallpaper—Ovid’s Metamorphoses—and this original mediation approach motivated the Etrillard Foundation’s support for this exhibition. This is materializing through the implementation of 30 introductory comic book workshops aimed at schools and families.
Alongside the Château de Prangins, the Etrillard Foundation wishes to introduce younger generations to classical mythology and raise their awareness of the art of comic books.
